What makes a program great is the people. Those that step up and commit time,
money and/or resources to ensure that the next generation has the same or more
opportunities that theuhad.
The Producer is a former volunteer and the Director is parent of a former contestant
and our former Director was a past Finalist. All in all, over 100 volunteers help make
each year happen from day of event activities, pre-event support, online assistance,
scouting or even if its just connecting us with beneficial resources.
Whether you're from the original Portland program or Beaverton, you're welcome to
apply to be an alumni member. Alumni can be former or current volunteers, staff or
sponsors. They are mostly comprised of students that only made it to the elimination
rounds and went on tour.
Alumni get in to events free, promote and support the program and may be invited to
attend open events. You also must be an alumni member to be invited to American
Idol auditions, special screenings, beach trips and any other fun, exciting or career
What is the cost?
Pretty simple. Must agree to help recruit students during the audition season (Dec
15 through Feb 28 Season 12), promote the program on social media by LIKING the
Facebook page, making positive comments on posts, sharing the great work we do
with potential sponsors, faculty if still attending school and coming to watch live
There is no actual financial cost to be an alumni but if you did want to make your
membership obligations simple, you can go the donation route. Like area nonprofit
boards of directors, we now have an annual $250 option that will make you an
Alumni in good standing for a year. You still must qualify to be an alumni but your
contribution will help make a difference, just like non-paying alumni that put their time
in to support Teen Idol.
